The Green Yoga Tribe is an online subset of the Green Yoga Association that is a new organization whose mission is to foster ecological consciousness, reverence, and action in the yoga community. Our current activities include producing the First International Green Yoga conference, to be held September of 2005; publishing a biannual newsletter; developing and piloting a green audit process for yoga studios and teachers; and raising awareness about the toxicity of current yoga mats and encouraging the development of alternatives.
